At ICS-digital, we want to be as transparent as possible when it comes to our recruitment process, and most importantly we keep a consistent approach across the board that is fair and (hopefully) enjoyable for candidates.
Whether you’ve applied for an entry-level digital marketing position or you want to head up a team, we’ll maintain objectivity each step of the way.
Reasonable adjustments are open to all candidates from the very start. We value applicants with a range of experiences and backgrounds so if there’s something we can do to accommodate you, just let us know.
Whether it’s providing documents in a certain format or adjusting the interview environment, we’re happy to offer flexibility.
We advertise our roles across different platforms, as well as our own website. We’ll always be clear on the salary and exactly what we’re looking for.
All applicants are shortlisted against the job description for the role, ensuring a fair and objective process from the outset.
If you’ve been shortlisted for a vacancy, the two-way recruitment process starts there. We’ll be in touch via email with the full job description to schedule a quick, 10-minute phone call.
The phone screening stage is designed to be a brief (friendly!) chat to go through your relevant experience, aspirations, the steps in the recruitment process, and the general details of the role like salary, location, hours etc.
While it’s still important to make a good impression at this stage, it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t an interview - and we always want to make sure candidates have a clear understanding of what it’s like to work at ICS-digital or ICS-translate.
This is a chance for you to give a summary of yourself and ask any preliminary questions you might have about how we work as a digital agency.
These questions are often about the specific teams we have within the agency from content and SEO, to digital PR and project management, and the types of clients we serve - but the important thing is getting to know each other before moving onto the next stage.
For most of our digital vacancies, we’ll carry out an assessment. The assessments we create are tailored to each role, to give us an idea of your skills but also for you to get a feel for what you might be doing day to day.
All candidates will receive the same task for a given role and they’re not designed to soak up loads of time - we want everyone to have the best chance to show us what they can do.
We’ll review the task and provide you with some feedback on it, whether you’re progressing to the next stage or not.
We’re also open to receiving feedback ourselves – if you think we can improve a task in any way, we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Following a successful assessment, we’ll invite you for an interview with the relevant hiring managers for the role. We’re keen on keeping our interview approach focused but fairly relaxed – nobody performs at their best when faced with a panel of seven interrogators.
We’ll have a chat about your experience and then move on to some competency-based questions.
After this, we’ll discuss the company and role in a little more detail, as well as answering any questions you have for us. All interview questions are based on the core responsibilities and competencies of the job description, we won’t be throwing in any nasty surprises.
We won’t leave you waiting ages for feedback, either. We’ll provide a decision and feedback within a week of your interview, often within 3-4 days. Also, if you have any follow-up questions that slipped your mind during the interview, we’ll be happy to answer anything via email afterwards.
It’s also important to note that we do encourage candidates to keep in touch - we’re pretty big digital marketing agency so there could be future roles in different departments, or new client requests that lead to the creation of wholly new roles - so keeping in touch is good.
At the moment, we have some fantastic opportunities across our different teams. If you’re interested in any of our current vacancies, apply today or get in touch and we can have a chat!
